Did you know that your lower back is supported by three different muscle groups? Your back, front thighs and abdominal – or core – muscles all help keep your back healthy and strong. When one of these muscle groups weakens, it puts a stress on the other two muscle groups.
Here is a great exercise to help strengthen your core:
Leg Lifts Lie on the floor, legs together and straight out onto the floor. Place ball between your feet; place hands palm down flat on the floor under your butt lift legs six inches off the floor. Keep ball between legs. Hold for 5 – 15 seconds, lower. Repeat 15 – 20 reps. Perform this exercise 3 times a week.
Please leave comments about the exercise. Have you tried it before? If so does your core feel stronger?
